DirectX 10 is the latest that I have managed to install. DirectX 11 instantly gives BSOD.

About the part with the games, there's already buch of new games that can run on XP thanks to this project such as Grand Theft Auto V, Watch Dogs and ect...

I would suppose you used x64 XP for this? Also I would like the extended kernel project to continue for XP 64 too, since it's a great os for newer hardware.

This might be an impossible stretch, but since IE8 is getting more and more unreliable - http://www.msfn.org/...eb-pages-https/ - for the times when you just have to use IE it would be nice if either IE10, or preferably IE11, could be made to work in XP.

Cheers and Regards

I would like to have the focus first on implementing support for Visual Studio 2015.

Instead of spending a lot of time implementing support for Internet Explorer 10 or 11, which don't get new features anway. Microsoft has ditched the old Trident engine and replaced it with Edge in Windows 10.

Yes I did. Even tough I said that I don't have any plans for any projects with XP x64, I have decided that I'll make a KernelEx also for XP x64 as it is much more usable as an modern OS than x32, but don't worry, development for XP x32 won't be discontinued.

Well, we sure aren't short of browsers working on XP. IE is needed solely for MS/Windows Update and the MS Update Catalog, which soon enough will have not much use for XP users anyway. I think getting .NET 4.6 and VS 2015 working is much more useful. And, well, in any case, Windows Media Foundation, .NET 4.5 and most or all that can run on Vista would be more than enough for and Alpha version. Fantabulous isn't a friend of good, and good is more than enough, for a great start. Of course, these are just my 2ยข, but I couldn't avoid saying it.

I love windows xp due to its lightweightness . I some body say windows xp ui is super worse then they should try some msstyles and skinpacks like xptsp(XpThemesoarce patcher).Windows Xp gives more fps in games if we compare mordern windows like 7. I donot know why all tech writers are speaking of stop using windows xp.

I do want to point out that to get Internet Explorer 9.0, 10 and 11 working on XP x64, it would probably be necessary to patch and/or replace CRYPT32.DLL and RSAENH.DLL.

Because Microsoft did not release SP3 for XP x64, Internet Explorer included with the OS can no longer access SHA 2 websites. IE is dependent on the OS for SHA 2 compatibility. You must use an alternate browser with independent SHA 256 compatibility such as Chrome or Firefox.

I have already mentioned that after Chrome drops support for will XP, I'll immediately release a patch that supports Chrome again. For Firefox, I think that they'll natively support XP for a year.

Anyways, I am already finishing up and I'll maybe release a debug version of KernelEx for Windows XP SP3 32-bit in few days. Windows XP SP4 32-bit and Windows XP SP2 64-bit will have to wait a bit longer.

TenFourFox (the PowerPC branch of Firefox) is still going even though Apple killed the PowerPC platform 10 years ago.

I think it's quite possible that Mozilla could support Windows XP and Vista for a while longer. One, it would allow them to gain market share from Chrome, and two, they have been pretty flexible when it comes to supporting EOL operating systems. Firefox 2.0 still ran on NT 4.0 and Windows 95, years after Microsoft had dropped support.

I believe it all comes down to Mozilla's operating resources that are available. During much of 2015, Mozilla has been committed to preserving XP SP2 as a minimum baseline. One-third of Firefox users are on XP SP2, and two-thirds are on SP3. It is clear they will attempt to support it as long as possible.

I have been using Firefox since 2004, and their install packages seem pretty flexible across all different operating systems. While Firefox 12 is the last "officially" supported version for Windows 2000, even that OS can run Firefox 13 + with the right components. MSFN member TomasZ86 has explicitly explained how to do so: http://forums.mozill...c.php?t=2482475
