cc333
I have my Windows 7 desktop set up just right (eliminated all the 7-specific stuff so the taskbar behaves more-or-less identically to it's XP/Vista counterparts, set the icons on the desktop to those from XP, etc), but I'm wondering if it'd be possible to hack and/or replace logonUI.exe (which I believe is responsible for the Welcome screen) such that the old-fashioned logon window from Windows 2000 (or XP with welcome screen off) appears instead. If not, no big deal; I can live with it. I'm just curious. c

Classic Theme Restorer Extension for Firefox also helps and if you still have it, the Plus Pack that came with Win 98, the icons, pointers, cursors and stuff still work, so far, I haven't tried them in 10 but I don't like 10, would rather use 7 64bit or Linux if I have to. Though you want to change the Logon screen, I just stayed with the stock because my "MicroBorg:'98" startup screen wouldn't look right. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5382-log-screen-change.html?filter[2]=Appearance Personalize Edited September 17, 2016 by Browncoat info
