Could you explain in details when you are getting those errors?

I have just checked the newest version of the FullPack on my machine and everything seems to be working fine, at least when it comes to the installation process.

Is your Windows 2000 source original and clean (with no 3rd party modifications)?

I was able to find out that the first error with logagent.exe is coming from MPSETUP.EXE from windows media player 9.

I'm currently installing on vmware 6 and it happens at the last phase of install, before the reboot I beleive.

If you need a screen capture I can provide that, though I need better attach access on the forum or I can email it.

I orginally recevied the second error when i uninstalled the hfslink nfo from add/remove.

It seems that something might have not been slipstreamed correctly. It should not matter whether you use VMWare or VirtualBox (which I myself prefer). Everything should still install properly without any errors.

I would suggest slipstreaming the updates again. Please remember that if your host OS is Vista or newer you must run the HFSLIP script as administrator. Otherwise some updates (especially the very old ones) will not be unpacked correctly, and thus will either fail to or only partially integrate.

I have tried the cmd file in administrator mode.

I am still getting the same error with the windows media player 9 with a full install.

I've tried custom smaller update install since I kept getting logagent.exe error and still no success.

I posted my log below and I can send you a screen capture of the error.

I was just thinking, what file or directory does logagent.exe from windows media player 9 belong?

I can try adding the file Manually after the slipstream and check if it works.

I have checked your log file. Are you sure that you have the right version of the HFSLIP2000-FullPack? There are plenty of updates missing from your HFSLIP folders. I would suggest to download the current release of the FullPack from my download Archive (located in the Windows2000/USP5 folder), unpack it, add your Windows 2000 source to the SOURCE folder and run the script. Also, do not delete any files from the FullPack folder and make sure that your source is clean because at the moment in your log file you have

CDTAG           - Undefined

which normally should be

CDTAG           - CDROM_NT.5

meaning that file file is probably missing. If you are not sure which files are needed you can always just copy all files from your Windows 2000 CD to the SOURCE folder.

I've copied the CDROM_NT.5 to the i386 folder.

The logagent.exe is with the official full install, but with my log version also. I'm not currently using all the hotfixes yet because I was/am trouble shooting the windows media player 9 issue.

I've noticed, one WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe doesn't appear to get installed in the official and my version. I have to install it manually on the windows desktop.

I'm going to try the following command line and replace it in [SetupHotfixesToRun]:

WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /q /o /n /z

I'm going to try and manually add MPSetup9.exe to the top of [SetupHotfixesToRun] and see if the fixes the logagent.exe issue; before HFSLIP.CMD gets called.

http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/24/ "Adding Windows Media Player 9/10...
Open up your SVCPACK.INF file, and add an entry BEFORE any other hotfixes, simply with the name of the file you download below. That's it!"

I am not sure I will be able to help as I only do my testing with a full (non-modified) version of the FullPack where all the updates, hotfixes and other files listed on my site are included :(.

I can guarantee that everything works correctly with such a full installation. However, in case of a customised installation like yours it is really difficult to deduct what the problem may be about. With my limited time, I am not able to do any other type of testing except for the full installation which means all updates, all hotfixes and all other packages slipstreamed. Because of that, the FullPack includes everything from the Updates Lists.

As for Windows Update related files, they are not included on purpose simply because they are not needed (as long as all the updates and hotfixes have been slipstreamed).

  • 3 weeks later...

I have gotten Windows 2000 - WMP9 and IE6 SP1 slipstream working with hfslip2000!

I've excluded the following files for media player for now: wmp6cdcs.exe and wm324178.exe.

I'm guessing the add/remove error that I am receiving is from the .net installs. I am going to try the following revisions:

onepiece .net v1.1 builddate=2013/07/10

onepiece .net v2.0 builddate=2015/20/19

If that works, then i'll try installing the security and other updates again.

The new version from onepiece adds other entries to NetFx11.inf.

Theres a lot added, here just a few copy pastes of the diff.

Fair to say that it needs "SonicDVDandCDBurning" to work.

inf programming book ;)

I going to try the default .net cab files now.

I just want to say that the Add/Remove error cannot come from the .NET Framework addons because they were added only very recently (2016-08-22 to be specific) and the original post is dated 2016-08-15.

I do not have any such issues in my installation (where all the updates, hotfixes and other files listed on my site are included).

I have gotten Windows 2000 - WMP9, IE6 SP1, .NET V1.1, and .NET 2.0 slipstream working with hfslip2000!

The older onepiece .net addon worked. the add/remove works too.

I dont see the .net v1.1 admin shortcuts though in the admin tab. anyone know why those shortcuts aren't displayed?

I'll have a look at installing the following separately SCRIPT, MDAC and MSXML and see if I can find where, if add/remove breaks.

Then I'll look what is now 98 security updates and 3 optional ready to install updates.
