Sorrious
Hello, I own a dell laptop, that uses windows 8. somehow, the password was changed on the admin account. Thankfully, the guest account is on so I can still use the laptop. I tried going to the given site to reset the password but that did not work. jaclaz
I don't think you can do much form a Guest account, if you have a Windows 8 bootable media (the install DVD) or you can make one, there is a procedure to bypass the login, or - still IF it is a 8, depending on version PassPass (shameless plug) might work fine to the same effect. The good ol' utilman trick:http://reboot.pro/topic/17872-reset-a-windows-8-password-without-using-any-third-party-software/ unfortunately the images have been lost in the interweb, but here: http://reboot.pro/topic/17872-reset-a-windows-8-password-without-using-any-third-party-software/?p=171014 I posted links to the same approach for the previous systems, the idea is exactly the same, this one particularly is simple and clear enough, and though it is for 7, will work the same for 8:https://www.technibble.com/bypass-windows-logons-utilman/ And this is specific for 8: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/a/reset-password-windows-8.htm Maybe (but I doubt it) you can do the same from the guest account, otherwise you will need an install media or a PE. If you don't have one, PassPass may be used as long as you have a USB stick that you can format and setup:http://reboot.pro/topic/18588-passpass-bypass-the-password/ You may want to use Stever6375's version that can be inegrated in his E2B nice tool to make the USB boot stick: http://www.easy2boot.com/ http://rmprepusb.blogspot.it/2014/09/passpass-for-win-81-x64.html jaclaz

I tried many free programs including Ophcrack, it keeps saying "table not found", i don't know why, any suggestion?

Maybe you forgot to set the first boot device , if you make password reset disk with USB or CD,DVD , you need to set one of them to be the first boot device , Otherwise, the default is the hard drive.
