Server 2008 Updates on Windows Vista

Just letting everyone know how October's batch of updates went. I was able to install all of the Server 2008 October 2017 updates on my Vista Ultimate x64 system with no issues. Here are the following updates that I installed (no .NET Framework updates were released this month AFAIK, so no .NET Framework related updates were installed):

There also seems to be a Security Update (KB4042050) available.

KB4035176 - Improvements and Fixes to Universal C Runtime in Windows

  • Added a readme file in the extras folder with details on what each update does
  • Changed the names of the .NET Security Only and Security and Quality Rollup folder for easier navigability
  • Corrected a file insider the mandatory .NET updates on the x86 folder

Wouldn't hurt doing so i guess , I might also do a fresh install in upcoming months(did 10 fresh installations this year lol) so it would help for few people, its your call if you want to or not. :)

Yes, please! I seem to be regularly  installing Vista in various VirtualBox and VMWare machines. The update process on a VM is slightly more interminable than non-virtualised, so anything that can hasten the process early on is invaluable. :(

And BTW, many thanks for maintaining this repository on Mega!

So if one installs Vista fresh, will updates actually work without any patching, or just slowly?

Individual updates install just fine. The problem occurs when running Windows Update. It takes forever to find updates, unless you install the latest IE cumulative update and a few other updates...
