MSN 6.1 blocks out Windows 4.7 conflict? Rate Topic: -----

Not sure exactly what caused it, but here is my problem.

Following someone's advice in another thread, I threw the MsnMsgs.msi installer for MSN 6.1 in the X2M directory, and I have the 4.7 Windows Messenger Win Update (MMSETUP.EXE) in the WMS drectory.

After processing with XPCreate, installing on VMWare 4.5 and hitting windows update, It still reports me as needing the 4.7 update.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this might be?

I vaguely remember something about that ... did you try WITHOUT the 4.7 update? Or using WMS 5.0? If not, please do try, and report your findings.

Log file looks fine.
