i vaguely remember something about nvidia cards and random reboots in xp due to the drivers or something...i just remembered bc i was sitting here online and the screen went blank and the comp restarted...anyone have a remedee to this?

What card are you using? I used to get that with my TNT2 before. Either you stick with the XP default drivers or try using the 27.70 drivers, they were quite stable for me.
