Hi, this is a very handy wee utility that we have started to install on users 2K / XP desktops at work.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techi.../wntipcfg-o.asp

Pretty sure I could include this no bother - not sure which folder to drop it in to though. Anyone tried / know? Thanks in advance.

Yes - indeed it does. However, have you ever tried to talk a user through it on the other end of a phone? :)

Mmmm. Forgive me, I am sure you know a lot more about this than I do, but why would I want to do that? Usually, when I install this on a machine it creates a directory under 'Program files'. From there one has just to create a shortcut from the exe on to the desktop.

SVC-X2M it is.
Personally, I just add the winipcfg.exe (the actual program, not the installer) in SYSTEM32, and create a shortcut in System Tools, as installation, as such, is not required.

Just to let you know I tried that and it worked a treat. Thanks to both of you for your advice.

Now then, I know that this isn't really the right thread to ask this but I wonder if you could now tell me how to create a shortcut for this that would sit in the All Users desktop? :)

Thanks again.

Thanks a lot - I appreciate all your help. I'll check it out.

I wonder if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the problem I am having now? I have posted it under the Unattended Windows thread as 'Problem at 13 mins to go stage'.

Thanks again.
