I am using XPCREATE to make a 2000 Server CD. I was able to make a CD with SP4 integrated just fine, then I tried adding some additional files via $OEM$ and another folder that contained a couple of apps. When I created this second CD, I got an error just after boot in text-mode stating "Line 130 of the INF is invalid" So I removed all the files I added, and re-created the CD and I am still getting the error. Could someone take a look at this log file and tell me if there is anything that indicates an error or problem? I looked at it but couldn't determine if anything looked wrong. I am using a Windows 2000 Server CD with all the contents copied to the HD and have the INI pointed to this location.

3:30 PM EST: To be sure that the source files copied to the hard drive were not the issue, I used the original Windows CD and I am still getting the same error

that is indeed strange. Especially if your original disk gets it too.

Are you sure you're using your ORIGINAL and not another CUSTOM one?
The original shouldn't have that problem. Especially if it came from Microsoft.


Doesn't sound like an XPCreate error to me.

This is most likely an error in winnt.sif (I know it says inf, but most likely it's wrong). As a test, remake your winnt.sif from scratch or omit it (best of all). Then let us know.

Alanoll, you were right, it wasn't XPCREATE. BeenThereB4 was right on the money though as there was a line in the WINNT.SIF file that was causing it to hang. I had Contact_Name=firstname lastname set under [SNMP] and it apparently was choking on that as the name had a space between the 1st and last names. Can I use "" to enclose the name so it won't hang on that line with spaces in it?

Another problem ignored till it went away!

You should be able to use the quotes just fine in WINNT.SIF. As a matter of fact, I'll bet that the usage or non usage of quotes in Setup Manager's WINNT.SIF ia arbitrary. I think you only need them when there are spaces in the value.
