i have a chiftec scorpio case in charcoal, and i thought it looked a bit lack-luster lately.
i found this sponge in a plastic box under the sink called "dash flash" for the car, now you will have seen these before they sell the same things as "intant shine" for shoes.
theres some silicone based liquid in the sponge, but dont confuse this with "back to black" its not a colored liquid, its a very thin film of clear polish.

i wiped my whole case all over with it and presto! it looks beter than when it was new. (not that its old)
i dont know how it would look on a biege case, but certainly colored cases, especially DELL machiens would look great after a once over with one of these, its been on a week and it hasnt changed since the first day i did it, but its not permanent, its only a polish.

just thought someone else might like to rejuvinate thier cases looks :)

if you have a stainless steal case you can use super fine steal wool to shine it up, take out any nicks or scrapes, I use to use it on a BMX bike I had when I was a kid, worked great.
BB :)
