quite a few of my drivers wont use their setup exes and based on what ive seen if we can replace the windows installer 4.0 with the sp1 version it would work better. im coming to this conclusion based on the latest nforce 4.24 udp. it installs with the setup.exe on sp1a, but will not work in sp2 or longhorn both of which included a newer version either 3 or 4 of the installer. if we can get it back it mightwork ill try this out tmrw hopefully

I wouldn't see that being the problem because the Windows Installer is backwards compatible. It may be that it checks the Windows version for certain versions to install appropiate drivers, because they are not mainstream, it ignores them and doesn't install.
