Pardon me if this was discussed allready. I did a search but it came out empty handed.

All went OK - even Windows Update shows I'm fully updated.

But whenever I attempt to open Media Player 9, which was slipstreamed using the XPCREATE method, it gives me a dialog box with Privacy Options and Privacy Statement Tabs. Clicking the Continue button just flashes the dialog and then reappears.

Do I miss anything?

Please help

Welcome to XPCREATE, Quin!

I cannot think of anything you have missed. I do, vaguely, remember seeing this once before. It sounds almost as if after acepting the conditions, or whatever, WMP did not have the necessary permissions to store your settings, thus looped back to accept.

As usual, I am sure that this is not an XPCREATE issue. Did you try as administrator? If you re-install WMP9 does it go away? What happens with NO WMP9? If nothing else ... what does the Failsafe Install say?

Hi GreenMachine

Thanks for the welcome and the reply.

I will try your suggestions and will let you know what the outcome is.

OK!

- Tried Administrator and no go.
- Re-installed WMP9 and it disappeared (Setup gave me a similar Privacy dialog but at least it's accepting my options)
- No problem with NO WMP9.
- Mind my ignorance, but what is the Failsafe Install?

Failsafe is the next step: Go to the Current hotfix list on the web site, and start clean, using only those hotfixes listed in bold. No other programs. No reg tweaks. Just plain vanilla. If that does not work, attach the file LOGFILES.CAB, that you will find in the NEWFILES directory.
