booster
@booster: I'll try to find your problem. Also note, running WIHU under Windows 2000 is not fully possible because of this privilege restriction. Please send me your logfile and may be ini file.BenjaminActually I am using Windows XP Pro SP1Will try the new release.I have some ideas I want to test out, so I will come back later with my findings
booster
I send you log and ini's.However the user I specified in WIHU GUI is created fine. (users.ini is empty)And if I use "SkipSettings" then the programs is installed fine.Is it correct that I can run it at the T-13 mark ?I have read that at that point the only user that exist is the "Default User".So all programs is installed in the "Default User" which is fine, because when a new user then logs on he/she get's all the settings from the "Default User"But maybe there'a a problem when creating new users.. However the user is created fine.ini_log.zip Edited August 9, 2004 by booster
BenjaminKalytta
It seems that you are using Windows 2000 isn't it?This will not work properly with Windows 2000 mainly not logging on at this new user.Second: command.0.0 = xcopy Tc603\wincmd.ini "%systemdrive%\Program Files\totalcmd\wincmd.ini" should also contain an corresponding description.0. key ... despite the fact that this command is hidden.Third: May be you could specify full path to xcopy executable like %systemroot%\system32\xcopy.exe ...Please try to call WIHU the same way (as in unattended installation) in Windows, especially creating users and install software as this user.Is it correct that I can run it at the T-13 mark ?I've never tested it.I have read that at that point the only user that exist is the "Default User".This default user will not be created if /SkipSettings or /UseCurrent is specified.Benjamin

You'll see that it is Windows XP.And despite the errors about creating user, the user is created and the user is the one that auto logs in. BenjaminKalytta
@booster: Does this error only occur at T-13?Please use this WIHU release and try it again (sorry). Please specify /verbose switch. I added some more verbose.Benjamin

BenjaminKalytta
@booster: Very strange. Error 21 means "Device not ready" after calling "LoadUserProfile" API. May be calling this at T-13 stage isn't allowed?!Do you use roaming profiles (think not)?Benjamin

I just run it from the RunOnceEx.cmd, so no more worries Benjamin Thanks though PS: I found this about CMDLINES.TXT Edited August 9, 2004 by booster
BenjaminKalytta
certain programs/instructions may not work, due to the unfinished state of the windows setup. An example is the NET USE command, which you cannot use, as the Workstation service has not been started, and is required by the NET USE command. That's it Benjamin

booster
Now I got a different problemUsing this[Tools]description.0 = Total Commander 6.03command.0 = Tc603\Install.exeselected.0=1description.0.0=Total Commander Settingscommand.0.0 = xcopy Tc603\wincmd.ini "%ProgramFiles%\totalcmd\wincmd.ini" /Yselected.0.0=1If I then uncheck the x.0.0 in the GUI then the whole "Tools" section is unchecked. The only way to only install "Total Commander 6.03" without the settings is to click to times on the "Tools" section.Maybe that's by design ?
