The [Components] section contains entries for installing the components of Microsoft® Windows® XP

I customize them in the winnt.sif ,but it seems what I set isn't applied!!.

Is this section not valid in winnt.sif??

Almost nothing,huh

I think they are useless to me

I want they are all uninstalled

When I use nlite to remove them,there are some errors,so I try to uninstall them by this way.

Well, I use it too and it works fine for me.

I'm using

[Components]
   IEAccess=off
   OEAccess=off
   WMPOCM=off

to disable Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Windows Media Player. Note: these programs aren't actually _removed_ but they are made invisible to a (normal) user: they're installed but there aren't any shortcuts to them.

What do you mean??

I use the administrator account.Do you mean them are all visible to administrator??

Oh,I shouldn't remove xp's components by this way??

NO! It will be invisible to _everyone_. Invisible in this case is: no shortcuts point to them. So they aren't actually _removed_, because some of them are necessary (e.g. Internet Explorer for Windows Update) or some components of them are necessary (e.g. Outlook Express has some files that are also needed for Outlook).

However, I don't know if this is true for all XP's components.

There must be some errors inmy winnt.sif. Now I'll try to do that again.

You said they are still installed.Still the components are fully copied to the harddisk and available for other programs??

No shortcuts point to them.We still could access them by finding the executable files??

To all of your questions: yes.

BUT, I repeat: I don't know if this is true for all XP's components.
