ZoneAlarm

I've found some switches for ZoneAlarm which seems to allow you to add your licence key and your config file. Not sure it'll work. I'm going to it myself
[PATH_to_exe]\zasetupXX_XXX.exe /s /i /noreboot /lickey lwqe95jkdghb03... [PATH_to_config_file]\config.xml
The "/lickey" switch allows you to specify your license key; separate the switch from the key with a space. Leave another space after the key if you're going to use a configuration file.
I works with some of ZoneLabs the other products

install once.
copy the zonelabs registry entry you need to configure za
copy this file ---> Windows\System32\zllictbl.dat (this is your licence file!)
then the sequence is (correct the syntax yourself
copy zllictbl.dat to system32
zaSuiteSetup.exe /s /noreboot
regedit your preferences
working for me.....

I have noticed that ZoneAlarm uses .zap files to install it's components, found by looking in the program files installed folder.
May be possible to install and modify settings by using GPO to apply to all / some stations if your on a network

Did you hypens in the serial ?
You can backup your security settings in the preferences tab under overview. I will save you settings in a *.xml file which should work with a new install if you use the switches I provided earlier.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zone Labs]
export then edit those to keep just the essentials
import them after installing za
REGEDIT /S %Path%\zappref.reg

Edit 06.11.2004 OK I've put the config.xml file inside the Zone alarm folder
$OEM$\$1\Install\Applications\ZoneAlarm\
and it's picked up automatically

%cdrom%\Software\ZoneAlarm\zapSetup_55_062_011.exe /s /i /noreboot /lickey XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX %cdrom%\Software\ZoneAlarm\config.xml
it installs silently, but does not register it. Ive tried time and time again, no registering. Whats the problem? Should I take out the -'s in my code?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You have to "make" the config.xml yourself.
Open ZA and go to: Overview->Preferences->Backup and restore security settings->Backup

REG ADD %KEY%\006 /VE /D "ZoneAlarm Security Suite" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\006 /V 1 /D "%INSPATH%\006_zone_alarm\za_suite_setup.exe /s /i /noreboot /lickey XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX %INSPATH%\006_zone_alarm\settings.xml" /f
It's in RunOnceEx, the %INSPATH% is a variable I created myself.
Note: Don't use the "-" from the licensekey.

I have a problem with the newest ZoneAlarm (6.5.700.000). The installation hangs after installing... I have to reset my pc, then Zonealarm seems to be installed, but I'm not able to run it, I get this error: "Can't get access to the file. Possible you don't have permissons for this item" (translated from dutch).
Is it possible the installation is bugged ? Because I had problems with installing on my PC too (normal installation). I had to do a real clean install to get it work!
strange thing is, an unattended installation is a CLEAN install so I'm wondering why it doesn't work... :s
Hopes somebody can help me!
thx!
