Trouble IIyama drivers

BAM

Recommended Posts

Hi u all,

This one is a pain in the butt for a long time now!

I did a search through the forum allready, but no info came available as far as i could see... :)

Every thime when i have finished off an unattended install, with the OemPnPDriversPath for my drivers the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the drivers my monitor!!! Its driving me crazy by now.

The monitor type is the 21inch IIyama Vision Master Pro 512. (HA202DT)

I downloaded these drivers and put them in the right directory's etc etc.

All my other drivers go well, but with this one i have go to my monitor properties,

i will choose the driver to install, point at the drivers dir that was copied over during unattended install, and then point at the monitor dir.

It shows the default AND the Vision Master Pro 512 there, with the yellow flag for not beeing digitally signed.

My winnt.sif file has the following line:

DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore

Can anyone help me here or provide a good file that should work for me, because i can't get it to work.

thnx in advance.

some OEM manufacturers (like HP/Compaq) use different method for the installation of the monitor inf.

They use a small console program from the Windows 2000 DDK to install the inf file.

the file is install.exe

File Version : 5.0.2195.1620

Description : Install Program for Windows 2000 Drivers

Size : 34331 bytes

For a P710 monitor, the commandline syntax is :

C:\Compaq\P710\Install.exe C:\Compaq\P710\P710.inf MONITOR\CPQ1384

by launching this command during guirunonce phase, it should works.

P710.inf = a Microsoft Windows setup information file for the Compaq P710 Color Monitor.

MONITOR\CPQ1384 = info found by first editing the inf file

[ControlFlags]
ExcludeFromSelect.nt = MONITOR\CPQ1384

C:\Compaq\P710 folder contains

P710.inf

P710.cat

CPQP710.icm

Install.exe

download here to get the file :

Compaq Commercial Monitors Windows INF/ICM Software version 1.00 A (27 Nov 00)

But it's a little complicated to get the file.

install the software, runs a second time, when it ask it you wan't to compleztely remove, go to %temp% folder save the pft9~tmp folder in another location.

click OK to finish install.

then use a small tool to extract the content of Installshield cab files.

Don't remember the url to get this little tool, please be patient till i found it.

for your monitor infos found in the inf file :

HA202D="Iiyama  HA202DT, VisionMaster Pro 512"
%HA202D%=HA202D.Install, Monitor\IVM2160

%Path%\Install.exe %Path%\Iiyama.inf Monitor\IVM2160

I looked a bit at the Compaq tool.

Most of the time i am getting handy in all the things over here, but this one i threw away. Don't get it and takes to much difficult work, it's quicker to just do it by hand.

Because windows allready saw it, but just refused to install it!!!

I'm stuck here i gues. :)

No one who says:  thats it?

Yep, searched and googled, but not with the result i need.

But by the looks of it, i'm the only one one who has an IIyama monitor and uses the most wonderfull world of unattend by msfn....

Otherwise there SHOULD been more people with the same results as i have.

I'm not such an fan of editing inf files, because i simply don't understand where to look for when i open one up.

Take a look at the IIyama drivers they offer to download:

-it probably contains all of their monitors in one big batch.

-i only want mine.

-all kinds of other files around it, and i don't have a clou which one's i MUST keep. :)

And after that there's that problem again that it does not come forward during unattend install....

Sorry for that Bashrat, but you are the drivers-man, this is for sure not my favo thing!

Hope u will help me out..?

(So i can go forward to digging at the logitech part... hahaha)

Downloaded the devcon tool.

squezed it in my system32 dir.

used the following command line from my newly created monitor.cmd:

devcon update "C:\Drivers\004_Monitor\Iiyama.inf" "monitor\HA202D"

Outcome was:

Updating drivers for monitor\HA202D from C:\Drivers\004_Monitor\Iiyama.inf

Devcon failed.

:s

Perhaps you first have to uninstall the device in device manager? (Just guessing)

Yep, that was a good thought, but before i used it, i manually set it at a default monitor allready.

Now i did a try through the devcon tool: no device removed.

But i got to say that this is an interresting tool!

Loaded with options.

I saw it was getting busy here tonight, so any suggestions left, or are we giving up on me and my IIyama monitor?

@bashrat

eeeh.... can you point me also in the right direction for the iTouch/Mouseware??

did a search (!) allready, but no luck with those eather.

All I can say is I installed it using or InstallShield setup, or using a vbscript I made. Search this forum for vbscript, download one and edit to your needs. It's very easy!

grtz
