Chrysalis
I am running sp2 and I know there is a new limit for remote desktop but I am not sure what you guys are on about. I am able to have more then 10 connections fine. Chrysalis
ok I read the article and its connections per second not total connections its to stop things like viruses that do port scanning.
visaversa
Remote desktop connections, you get only ONE. If you want more simultanious go to this topic here
Denney
The limit is on the number of connections that can be made to other computer via ONE port on your PC.For example, you can only have 10 connections at once going out of, say, port 1234.In SP1 you could get as many connections as possible, now you can only have 10 connections per port at the same time. This has NOTHING to do with Remote Desktop.

Denney
@Alanoll: Exactally. That's why P2P programs like eMule will slow down. BitTorrent will also slow down unless you can configure it to use multiple ports.
Chrysalis
ok I see, it hasnt affected me tho as I dont use p2p however I think this should be easily adjustable.
nolookingca
hmm.. im currently using sp2 2149 and havent really noticed a connection issue with bit torrent. although i just got a modded xbox and sometimes ill lose connection to the ftp.. not sure if thats cause of sp2 or not. so as of now, there is no way to remove this limitation"?Look in your event viewer for Event ID 4226, that'll tell you if it's limiting your connections. As far as a complete removal of this limit, no not yet. There is a patch avaliable that moves the limit from 10 to 50 connections (listed in a previous link). strange...no 4226 here, yet I'm using sp2 RTM...@Zaheer: I know this sounds strange, but the drivers folder on mine has the only copy....and could you use replacer instead of safe mode (hate bad colours)? nolookingca
@Zaheer: I know this sounds strange, but the drivers folder on mine has the only copy....and could you use replacer instead of safe mode (hate bad colours)? It could be that your copy only has the copy in the drivers folder. That's the same with me, but that's because I have WFP disabled and I deleted the SP2 files. You can also use replacer, but you'll have to figure out how to do that yourself since I haven't played about with that I'm pretty good. tried it already on uxtheme
Zaheer
I'm pretty good. tried it already on uxthemeIs this the one you're talking about? http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/I'll give it a try. Seems really good
