If you ever meet someone from Boston, ask them to say, "park the car in the Harvard yard".

or rather..."paak teh caa in teh haavaad yaad"

ouch ouch ouch...

It's one of those like scottish people speaking english: it's really fun to listen to, but really hard to understand...

In Boston, it was hard to me to understand that a shop assistant meant to say "battery".

But it took me hours in NYC to understand that they meant to say "How are you doing?". :)

Mostly, Americans have their own accent which could make you forget your English.

Nice diversity of languages we have here - but as expected, english is in the majority. Oh well, makes it easy for us to communicate amongst each other..

I voted for European. Im Spanish and as you can see I speak English as well (though not perfectly :P ). Im in my 4th academic year of English Filology, so I also undestand some Old English (Chaucer, Beowulf, etc) and Modern English (Shakespeare, etc) :P I also undestand some Latin, Greek and French.

Un saludo a todos los hablantes de espaņol! :thumbup

I really love this melting pot we have here in MSFN :D
