hey there, I just got XP SP2 from MS website, tried to slipstream it but I receive the "This Service Pack cannot be integrated into a destination that also has integrated Software Updates."

So, how can I slipstream?
If I remove all hotfixes and slipstream SP2 Windows will still need the hotfixes?

You have to slipstram it into a non SP1 disk, once intergrated sp2 has most of the fixes, i only had to download a driver update and one or 2 other hotfixes (think one was the highmat cd thingy and one is .net framework)

NO hotfixes are required after updating to SP2.
.NET and Highmat are Updates, not hotfixes.

also, a little search wouldn't hurt. Delete SVCPACK.INF. That should clear the problem.

For future reference, Microsoft's service packs contain all previous critical updates, INCLUDING THOSE PROVIDED BY OTHER SERVICE PACKS. So, if you slipstream SP2 onto a vanilla XP CD you will not need any additional critical updates.

What are we supposed to do if we don't have a vanilla XP CD? I only have an SP1 installation disk of XP. Is there no way to properly slipstram SP2?

SP2 can and is meant to be able to be slipstreamed over SP1. It will update the source. Alot of people don't have a plain XP anymore.....so Microsoft has to do this. Don'tworry.

You can also slipstream this official release of SP2 over any beta SP2 editions you may have...

I removed svcpack.inf and when you run setup it gives an error saying it can not find the file. Does any have a svcpack.inf file for SP2.
