what is each switches signification Rate Topic: -----

i do get what they are used for but i still dont understand what each of them mean
could someone give me a quick description of each switch or point me to a thread that does exactly this :)

For the MSI switches, simply execute msiexec.exe /? and you will get a window with a description of all switches and their meaning.

For InstallShield setups you can also try /?. Some of them tell you something, some don't.

What switches do you mean?

App switches or hotfix switches?

hotfixes:

/Q: quiet

/O: overwrite

/N: no reboot

etc...

EDIT: one minute behind l33t :P , forgot to mention that...
