internet explorer has gotten to old to work with hotmail on my 95 machines. i tried installing firefox, but it gives me a problem with the file OLEAUT32.DLL, and its not suposto work with 95 anyways, so i went to mozilla, which wont get past the splash screen, and i tried the stuff they tell me to on the unofficial faq.
any one have ideas for a web browser that works with win 95? thanks

You can try OffByOne... it has not been updated in a couple years but it should run just fine under Win95. Some webpages may not load properly. If nothing else it may work as a temporary solution until you find a better one.
Because it requires no installation I have used it as a test browser and as a means to download drivers etc... for new installations of Windows where things have gone hokey pokey upside down.

What version of IE are you running. I would think IE 5.01 SP2 would work. I haven't heard of any applications requiring higher than that. My mom has IE 6 SP1 running on her W98 First Edition. Not sure if it or IE 5.5 SP2 will install on W95 though.

I'm pretty sure Opera will do fine on Win95 - http://www.opera.com

You can just install Windows 98 SE. Every program that works on XP, works on 98, except for desktop customizing tools because it has different start menu

Download this update "Windows 95 OLE 32 Update" and try to run firefox. I did this a couple of months ago and it works.
