:w00t: Ok, I have a brand new Dell 4600 with 2.8 gig, 80 hd and so and so. I am attempting to install Office xp (full version) to this pc and halfway through the instal I get error 25003. The only office product currently on the Pc was Word PErfect, which I have since uninstalled. I have been to Microsoft Knowledge base and have done everything mentioned with no results. I copied the contents of the disc to attempt an install directly from my Pc with no results.

Does anyone know what I should do to fix this????

I would even make you cookies if you can help me, any kind, chocolate chip, sugar, whatever!!!! :thumbup

The CD-ROM is damaged or dirty.
The program files on the network share are corrupted, missing, or hidden.
Another program that is running on your computer is interfering with the installation of Office.

If your Office XP CD is damaged... copying it to your hard drive will not solve the problem.

Use a clean boot to restart your computer, and then see if the issue persists. A clean boot is a method to create a clean environment. When you start your computer with a clean boot, Microsoft Windows starts and loads only the basic devices and services.

To restart your computer with a clean boot for XP:

Click Start, and then click Run.
Type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
Click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup.
Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check boxes :
Process System.ini file
Process Win.ini file
Load Startup Items

Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
Click OK, and then click Restart to restart the computer.
