Hi from the UK

I'm a home user of WinXP Pro which I've just reinstalled due to a new m/b. My 1st step was to do a repair install of my existing one which generally went fine. The only thing I lost was ACPI power management that even dumppo.exe couldn't fix.

The loss of ACPI PM was enough to spur me on to do a fresh install sooner rather than later. I've always wanted the entire Documents & Folders on another partition then move portions of my own profile to a third. Although I've heard it's possible to move the D&S folder after install - its not a recommended method & was hoping to do an SP2 slip-streamed CDRW with a winnt.sif to relocate certain system folders.

Unfortunately, due to reactivation being required within 3 days, I was in too much of a hurry & my unattended install attempt failed, so did a normal one which has been activated OK, giving me time to do some research on my final install. My 1st & only post on the Unattended forum went unanswered, perhaps because I gave the impression that I was pirating XP which I'm not, so will post again.

Thanks & regards

Hallo busb,
Welcome to MSFN forums :hello:

Your previous post has been answered now. As for why it went unanswered, maybe it was just missed out, in all the numbers of posts that keep being made, lol.

Enjoy!
