I don't understand the /a install...
If a do a setup /a, it copies a "Norton Ghost 9.0.msi" on the C root (however I can change the path during this installation), and that's all !
So I have only a .msi (about 5 Mo)... If I try to install Ghost using this .msi with

What's wrong ?
Do I need to copy the files from the CD ?

The /a is the network install. When you do that, it will copy the required installation file to the folder that you specify. For example, you select the folder C:\NortonGhost . It will copy all the files you need to that folder. You should have the Norton Ghost.msi, program files folder, Redist folder, and System32 folder.

I didn't notice the Redist, System32 etc. folders the administrative install created !!
Thx very much for your help !

The system cannot find the file symsetup=1.
Well this works for me so.
msiexec.exe /i "Norton Ghost 9.0.msi" symsetup=1 /qn /norestart

It stores the product key in a file called symlcrst.dll in Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccpd-lc.
If you look at this topic ----> http://www.msfn.org/...showtopic=35418, it tells you how to install it.
The only problem that may be encountered tho, is that it may be machine specific, like the internet security and the anti-virus.
But thats something that I can't test because I've only got the one computer to play about with.

That file is not even on my system after ghost 9.0 is installed and registered so.

Yeah I know the CCPD-LC folder does not exist.
Only thing in Symantec Sharded folder is:
Help Folder > LUALL HELP FILE
ccWebWnd.dll

You must be using WPI to get this to work. I hv not tested this yet on RunonceEX.cmd
basically what happens is this.
You install Ghost Silently (me using my 9MB ghost 7zip)
my second command in WPI is to enter a registry setting similar to that
or runonceEX.cmd when the computer reboots after WPI Another RunonceEX.cmd will appear and Activate Norton Ghost and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
hehehehe Got to love Autoit! love it!!! well now that i know how to use it
I was so clueless 6 months ago.
I will post the autoit script later. heheheh just came to me right now.

And what I mean is from an installation / registration point of view, not functionality. I've gotten the install to work by creating a server image followed by silent install through msiexec:
msiexec.exe /i "Path\to\Norton Ghost 9.0.msi" symsetup=1 reboot=reallysuppress /q*
It still asks for the serial on first run, though. And after that symlcrst.dll doesn't appear to have changed (though its datestamp is updated daily).
I haven't tried backing it up and reinstalling my system (I did that just last week, only without Ghost; I did install NIS2005 silently with a symlcrst.exe like in Astalavista's thread), and I'm really not about to just to test if it will work... so if anybody has experience with this?
