BenjaminKalytta
Please consider to use /autoinstall=<seconds> switch and you'll see it.Benjamin
iwod
I still don't get it. It provide function such as comparing and Checking file version. But if it is for Unattended Windows Install then it will be the same every time you install it. Since the system is clean. It has the options to add your Application into the list and Add user account. But at what time does WIHU runs?
BenjaminKalytta
But at what time does WIHU runs? It's up to you when you want to start WIHU. I prefer running in GuiRunOnce in winnt.sif.File version checking is a nice feature which could be usefull especially if WIHU isn't started as a part of unattended installation. But also in unattended mode it could be usefull after CD Slipstreaming for example. WIHU config file has not to be adjusted after slipstreaming ... may save time.It has the options to add your Application into the list and Add user account.Yes that's it. Me for example want full access over each additional component which may be installed by WIHU after Windows installation for example. As an example, if you install windows on several systems and you want install different software on different systems you could use WIHU to adjust software installations manually or let them install default components which should be installed on each system ... /autoinstall switch may be usefull here.Benjamin
XPect
My modest contributionWihu should be consider in 2 ways:- 1st like any cmd file to be abble to automaticaly add software in your unattended install but with testing capabilities and possibility to easilly add/change users- 2nd like a post install wizard to be abble to select additional soft to install to a specific machine.I use it in both way, a 1st pack of soft are installed thru unattended setup and I re run wihu on windows 1st run to select other softs to install... iwod
That solve a bit of my muddle.... i always thought WIHU was a complete replacement for Cmd files and Guirunonce...........But if i allow mutiple selection of software will means that mutiple software has to be on the CD as well. Then That would means some software might not get installed which is a waste of Space on CD.So for a Single total recover CD soloution WHIU doesn't seems to help much in this situation. BenjaminKalytta
No Software has not to be on CD. You may install it from network for example.Benjamin
