I do have two ADSL connections 500Km apart. I am planning to use Cisco 836 routers on both ends.
Are there any recommentations for the hardware I should use for VoIP?
Is there any software to help me for the compression and delay I may face?
I do not have poor quality of services!
Thank you

500 Kilometers is about 300 miles correct? I don't think you should have any problems. if you do it's probably only a delay of about 1-2 seconds if that. I've talked to people from San Jose Cali. to people in England. sounded fine.

If this is the VoIP i'm thinking of (Voice over Internet Protocal). I would suggest just using Ventrilo or Teamspeak both are free but you have to run your own server or connect to someone elses server.

Ventrilo only has a limitation of 8 per server if its the free version gotta get someone else to host if more then 8. but its great sound quality.

Teamspeak allows you to change the codecs and speeds. but as a result you lose sound quality. example.. the 2.3 or whatever codec uses less bandwidth but lose sound quality, the 9.1 or whatever uses more bandwidth but sounds better.

this is only if your only gonna be talking to a couple people. if your going to be hosting. i don't know...
