any body can make a image from installed system and install it to another system with norton ghost like apps. how to protect this such installation so that the image should not work with another system.

ghost has built in security features.
you can lock it to the bios of a machine/machine type, or it can be password protected

dear icemand

i know all that but if someone make a image in absense of me on my system and copy it to another system for the same setting and performance which i have made with lots of efforts how can i stop to this.

i mean to say i am hardware tech. i make so many download like patch updates twicks and tricks and somebody like my competeter can easy brake my all efforts with just copy the image with ghost and download to another system to get the same performance so how to protect that

To my knowledge there is no way to prevent ghosting of a drive. But you can always secure the machine/hard drive. Bios password, power on passwrd, hdd password, lock on the case, remove hard drive and take it with you etc.

thanks for giving u'r precious time to me.

but is it not possible to make a security check like disk volume no. / bios date and time checkup / cup serial no. detection / hard disk volume label / hard disk partition size / any specific hdd , cpu , vga , nic type is there to check before windows logon or like that if u can help me in this direction or any web site u know in which i can get such info.
