Heh, I downloaded AudioGrabber for my girlfriend to use and an even better one has been on the back of my mind. I'm glad I noticed this thread. Audio rippers seem to be the main thing she gets the hang of with the PC. Well, she can do pretty much anything as long as I show her. ^_^
Anyway, I'll try CDex. I like freeware. I currently use 1By1 Directory Player to playback my MP3...dunno if I'll use foobar2000...will check it out sometime.

Cheers,
Jeremy

I prefer iTunes over anything, and that's freeware too ;)

You can't specify a desired bitrate with AudioGrabber. CDex is more professional, anyway.

I just use the software I have. LOL

I will have to try CDex sometime. But I have mostly WMA files and I want to keep it that way. Me only got a few MP3s.

cdex is the only ripper I've used and it works great. I use Audacity to edit live recordings.

CDex here for me, very easy to rip to MP3, as well as easily being able to reconvert MP3's if say you wanted them at lower bit rates, the CDDB is very good, and when set to retrieve results as soon as you insert a CD, it certainly makes ripping a quick and easy process :)

Mine is WMP10.

Should this not be in the software forum?

Yeah I relise but it's not like every single poll is in this forum.

Plus this should be pinned in the software forum, because it like best AV, or best firewall, this is best ripping software.

You get me?

hehe... I haven't put my two cents in yet...

I've tried a lot of audio ripping software out there... but I've always come back to CDex. Very simple interface, simple CDDB setup, and options galore. Dump the latest L.A.M.E. encoder in the program directory and set it to 128-320kbps VBR and you're golden. Definately can't go wrong there.
