winntbbu.dll error !

Recommended Posts

During the copying process of windows XP setup I'm getting error as below ;

" The file winntbbu.dll wasn't copied correctly. The file setup placed on your harddrive isn't a valid Windows XP image. If you are installing from CD, there may be a problem with the XP CD. "

Actually i have changed the bootup image using the file winntbbu.dll. after that i did makecab winntbbu.dll and copied the cab file to 1386 folder and deleted the

winntbbu.dll from 1386 folder.

Pls help me out

are u sure that u have to cab the file?

in my XP sp2 it is not and i did get the same error when i followed AaronXp's unattended guide, saying i should cab the file. i checked the orig. cd and there it is placed as normal dll file!

i'm using localized german xp, mayb its different there, allthough i don't think that.

Have the same problem like sneakyghost... maybe the german version is a little bit other. The winntbbu is original not commpressed on CD. I have tried compressed(*.dl_) and uncommpressed (*.dll), it doesnt work for me. Must i patch also other files or what can i do ?

STEP 1

use the search feature to look for winntbu.dll and winntbbu.dl_ in your U.A. I386 folder (you should know what that is already by now)

MOVE the file or both files to a safe location.

download one of my pre-made winntbbu.dl_. Try that first.

it is works u must have done something wrong.

did u modifype the winntbbu.dll after u edited the 103 string?

Thank you, Astalavista

I tried your file - it runs fine. Must have the patched file the same size as the orginal file ? Can i re-edit your file (change messages to german...)? I have modified the file with modifype (color-changingpack)....with the cmd -script
