Hi all, sorry to bother you, I've downloaded the above hack to get DVD playback in Windows Media PLayer, and installed it, bit how do I get it to work?

I've got the DVD tab in the options page, but anymore than this I don't know :)

Thanx

I've got a RealMagic Hollywood Plus card in my system. I couldn''t play DVDs in Media Player before I installed the dvd pack, now I can. Thanks.

Go here ..

hxxp://windowsmedia.com/mg/xpgettingstarted/dvd.asp (replace the xx with tt) [/quote:cdf71de2c9]Hi, thank you for the link, I had actually worked it out, for some reason the first time I installed XP it did not realise that my DVD player was a DVD, but i've since re-installed it (the right way this time) and everything is working fine, I just wanted to say thank you to the people who posted the links to the DVD and MP3 things, it has made my eXPeriance (urgh!! :D) fantastic, and for the first time ever my PC has been able to play DVD's (I never had the software for it before).:):rolleyes::D

Below is some info a friend of mine had emailed me a while back. Hope it helps:

Goto:

Start::::> run:::> regedit::::>find the following key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMediaPlayerSettingsMP3Encoding]

"LowRate"=dword:0000dac0

"MediumRate"=dword:0000fa00

"MediumHighRate"=dword:0001f400

"HighRate"=dword:0002ee00

Edit the rates to the way you like:

320 Kbps = dword:0004e200

256 Kbps = dword:0003e800

224 Kbps = dword:00036b00

192 Kbps = dword:0002ee00

160 Kbps = dword:00027100

128 Kbps = dword:0001f400

112 Kbps = dword:0001b580

64 Kbps = dword:0000fa00

56 Kbps = dword:0000dac0
