Is there anyway, with XP Pro, to force the use of fixed IP addresses while at the same time getting DNS server addys from a DHCP server?
:later on:
Found a simpler solution. It appears that most if not all Linksys routers/gateways support DNS pass through. Just set your workstation DNS to the same IP as the gateway and you're all set.
Of course this would be far easier if Linksys would support DHCP reservations in their products. None of their boxen with the exception of the brand new G wireless routers will do this and even the G box only does it with the third-party Alchemy firmware. Makes me want to go out and get a Dlink router.

Have you tried using the Alternate Configuration under the IP settings to set your IP address statically?
Try that as a possibility.
Good luck.

You can always configure the GPO, either local or through AD
-or-
map the MAC adress in DHCP to a specific IP address
