I have switched my old hard drive for a new 1, installed windows and everything and its all going great.
but usually after i make a format i already have ready security updated which i had downloaded long time ago.
but now all the information in the hard drivers has gone and i got no updates to install.
when was entering to the internet to look for some, after couple of minutes my pc were full of stupid unneeded programms which made my internet barely move.

i deleted some of them but my windows is already cirrupted and i need to format again.
any way my question is what updates do i need to download from microsoft.com?
they have god **** millions of updates and i have no idea which are important and i need them and which are useless.
btw i has win XP sp1

because i want to download it and after the format to install it already before i'll enter to the net.

Er, generally the easist way to do this is by simply going to the win update site http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and the simply install only the critical ones. also there is also info on that site about getting the individual updates, but my reccomendation is simply to have windows download them for you via the online wizard...

heh i am using russian windows because of my father thats why that update windows is completely at russian.
but i can barely read russian so i cant understand what and how to update.
can you please guide me ?
