I use pidgin....Freeware, multiple chat clients supported and as an added bonus, I can connect to MSN network when the blocked MSN Messenger at home. :thumbup

Mercury Messenger (Java based) has pretty much all the features you can imagine for MSN. Not sure about everyone else but that's my favourite one.

True. It comes with all sorts of plugins and skins. Very customizable.
