I search for this but might be using the wrong key words......
Is there a way to bypass this. i.e. Put the cd in and have it go directly into the unattended install?

yes BUT, if u dont have an alternatate shell, everytime windows reboots it'd be starting from scratch, so when it reboots 2 start GUI setup, it'd goto text mode setup

Hi,
The "Press any key to boot from cd" option will also disapear (or boot straight from CD) if you have no bootable/installed partitions...
. That is the only circumstance that it would boot straight from CD.

Dont think this is against the rules.. Anyway.. It is part of the cd boot loader on 2k and up setup cds.. Look in the 911cd.net forums. Search for the very phrase you are trying to get rid of.. It has been done before.. Would get direct link.. But fealing just a little lazy. If you have problems finding I will be back tommorow and see if I can find it on that site for you, or in some of the info saved on my comp. Involves changing the cd rom boot loader a little.
