I do know many of these are available through oldversion.
Now my question is, from those available, which version should I install, or, in other words, which is the last version of Skype known to work OK with Win 98 SE?

Hi, funny i was going to post about Skype yesterday but thought no one would be interested...
ANYWAY, I've used this version with win98SE and it worked fine (1.4.0.84). It's just over 7MB.

Hi, I guess it worked ok for you? I tried it. It installed well but speech kept breaking up. so went back to the old one (posted version above), and it worked fine.

I've used versions of Skype from 2.0 up to current 3.5 in Windows 98SE.
Aside from video that is unstable, the only problems I had was when I used it on 56k dial-up.
Since I moved to DSL, I've had no issues unless I load up a large app at the same time as using Skype.
In this case, Windows 98SE's not-so-good multi-tasking makes the sound choppy for a moment.
