how to replace the new edited shell32! Rate Topic: -----

hi everyone, im using resource hacker and iconsextract to edit my windows icons files, when i want to replace the original shell32 to the new modified shell32 files, the windows prompt out the message and not allow me to replace it.. can anyone tell me how to replace the files, or any other correct ways to do it... please help me!

there are several guides on how to do what u are asking.

I made a guide myself a few weeks ago.

pls learn to use the search function before posting.

search for shell32.dll and astalavista

or shell32.dll and MCT

the file is being used by windows, so u must rename it first

REN %windir%\System32\shell32.dll shell32.old
XCOPY shell32.dll "%windir%\system32\" /Y

should work
