I don't understand what the point is of BartPE, i burt the disc after using the autoinstaller, and all it does it load into this bad imitation of Windows. And i can't even run programs because it can't find the system files. I can only think i would use this to delete files....since Knoppix is stupid about NTFS

Bart Pe and Windows Pe is a plateform which you can build on to do may things such as:
-File retrval from a non booting Os
-System restore
-Registry editing
-Virus and adware scanning etc

This is very helpful for a machine that refuses to boot into windows and can be a huge time saver for most techs and admins

Once you get it setup you will find it to be one of the greatest programs ever invented for many reasons,

Virus removal - so many tools that work in this environment, which means no interaction to windows at all while in PE, makes for a much easier way to clean a windows installation and remove malware.

Disk prep/installation - Want to install an unattended/sysprep'd/ghost image to a new PC over a network? You can do it with PE simple and easy.

These are the main two I use it for and it has been a godsend.
