disk cleanup annoyance

The recycle bin is completely disabled on the system.

Also, I don't have a "Settings" panel in Disk Cleanup so the posted tip doesn't apply. I'm not sure why I don't have Settings - I have 98 SE, 98 plus!, and 98SE2ME (updated files from ME) installed.

NO, not from disk cleanup itelf-- from the properties of the partition-- so that it then tells Disk Cleanup what to clean & how:

In either Windows Exploder or MyCompuker, right-click your drive letter, select Properties, in the middle-bottom-right of the box click Disk Cleanup, then on the top click More Options......

HTH........

That doesn't work :(

It says "Disk Cleanup for SWAP (I:)" and then Under More Options, the only choices are:

Windows components - You can free more disk space by removing optional Windows components that you do not use.

Installed programs - You can free more disk space by removing programs that you do not use.

System Restore - You can free more disk space by reducing the amount of storage used by System Restore.

Maybe 98SE2ME has caused this?

You may be right-- my setting's disappeared also-- either that or the SESP.....

But..... if you have X-Setup, you can still adjust that from this location:

System\File System\Windows 9x/ME Options\Misc\Low Disk Space

Hhhmm......
