I have an extremely detailed need to build a hard drive with the following:

1 Hard drive
2 partitions
Partition 1 - Windows XP
Partition 2 - Windows PE
Choose which to boot from in the Boot.ini menu.

This is not a repost!!!!!

I can get it to work with 1 partition and both (pe and XP) on that partition. I need this to be able to boot into the PE so I can drop an image to refresh the 1st partition.

Can someone share his/her experiences with success or failure on this topic?

Thank You in advance,
RH

Try copying the bootsect.dat to a floppy or networkhsare and then copy the contents of your I386 from WinPe CD to C:\minint, copy bootsec.dat to the root of C:, install XP on your second partition, the boot.ini will be on the C: then edit it accordingly. I am not 100% sure it would work, but the files for XP would be on C: so PE should boot fine. I have not tried this though.
