I've searched the forums with keyword 885626 and found lots of people doing installs with this, but I'm wondering if it's more monkey see monkey do, or is it really necessary?

I'm adding the latest round of updates and was removeing the old/replaced updates and noticed that on this popular thread that KB885626 is listed, however I never included it in my slipstreamed disc since it seems to be needed before installing SP2.

So since I'm installing fresh from my CD with SP2 already slipstreamed, may I safely ingore this update? or has anyone with the vast experience of this forum found it necessary?
