I wonder if he read the entire thread. And if he noticed the copies of his response in it. Probably only read the first post.

After sending them the info that only the file name needed to be changed in HFINT.DAT I rcvd this, I still have yet to figure out what the links were supposed to help with.

Once again, I would like to thank you for all your time and efforts on this issue.

The Windows Update development team is currently working on this issue. It is possible that a rollup update will be released to include both of the updates.

I will keep you updated if there is any further update.

xxxxxxxx, please understand that due to the software development lifecycle, it will take 1 or 2 month before an update is released.

Please understand that we are limited to leave a case open for a long time without active troubleshooting. However, our current issue involves development team so we can only use the workarounds currently.

If you agree, I will mark our case as temp closed first.

If you have any further concerns or there is anything that I can be of assistance again in the future, please feel free to contact me directly at xxxxxxxx@mssupport.microsoft.com.

At this stage, I am going to go ahead and close this case. Please feel free to write back to me, if you have any further concerns.

At the same time, I would like to share the following Web sites with you.

Windows XP Professional How-to Articles for IT Pros

Once again, thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Support Service. It was my pleasure to work with you on this issue.

ADDED (2/25/05)
The attached CMD script will integrate SP2 and all of the hot fixes located in the same folder.  It just uses the integrate switch and after integrating KB885835 it modifies HFINT.DAT as noted above and then integrates the rest of the hotfixes then returns HFINT.DAT to its correct format.

To Use:  (see here, for source and additional details)
leave SP2 named WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe
rename hotfixes to kbxxxxxxx.exe
change second line in update.cmd from set=h:\bootcd\working to the location if you cd creation directory.

Ive recently made a Unattended Turkish version whit all updates,if you go to windows update you only see Malicious blabla software + Internet Explorer SP1.
For additional software updates were : messenger 4.7 ,journal viewer and language package .NET Framework. :thumbup

Even the turkish New Liraupdate tool,i love this site.

Regards

ive forgotten that i also slipstreamed WMP10 with bashrats batch command right after SP2.

If you install WMP10 and Windows media connect unattended, after everything is installed open WMP10 1 time.

I'm just curious, is this script even necessary now that kb885835 isn't required? Thanks!

They both still show up when I check the list on a clean xp sp2 machine. And Incroyable Hulk still has both listed in the hotfixes list.

You may want to check again. I'd love it if they would replace these two updates.
