liamshannon
I really like the MS AntiSpyware beta. Works great, easy to schedule, easy to understand and so far has done a great job
dazkrlauwste
Found a new one, it is said to be the best according to toptenreviews.comSpyware Eliminator
tguy
Try Webroot Software's SpySweeper, it's not free, but industry comparisons rank it at the top of the antispyware software for personal and corporate use.Check out ZDNET, InfoWorld, or CNET for reviews. dazkrlauwste
You're right, SpySweeper is ranked second (silver) at toptenreviews.comhttp://anti-spyware-review.toptenreviews.com/
SilverHaze420
Thank god! I was reading the first page and was shocked nobody mentioned spysweeper! I used to use mainly spybot, adaware, and M$ until one of my co-workers started raving about spysweeper. I tried it and find it catches more then adaware or spybot. You still really need to run a few diff programs to get it all.
Tarun
You're right, SpySweeper is ranked second (silver) at toptenreviews.comhttp://anti-spyware-review.toptenreviews.com/<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I wouldn't trust those pages at all. Companies pay the people who do the reviews to make their products appear "better".
GeneralMandible
I would also recommend Spyware Blaster, which blocks a lot of things from getting on your machine. It works with IE and Firefox.Another good tool to use is LSPFix. If you can get an IP but can't connect to the internet, use this.
Martin Zugec
In XP SP2 you dont need LSPFix - Winsock providers can detect and self repair problems OR you can use command netsh winsock reset

Sugardaddy
well, your all wrong! MSAS is good, but the spybot and ad-aware(even the pro version) sucks!Try the Xoft, SpyBlaster, Pest patrol, Spysweeper 3.5you get what you pay for if you only want free ones, then.........I don't know what to say to you//SD
Tarun
well, your all wrong! MSAS is good, but the spybot and ad-aware(even the pro version) sucks!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Untrue. The combination of all three can effectively clean your pc. Ad-Aware Personal does fine, Pro does a little better. Spybot S&D does pick up things Ad-Aware misses, and vice versa. MSAS is good for beta, but I'm not suggesting it fully until the official release.

Jeremy
Using Firefox, it's built in pop-up blocker and absence of ActiveX Controls, having Java disabled and some JavaScript options disabled does the trick for me!
mickro71
Spysweeper and Spybot
Aegis
Spybot is losing some of its past detecting prowess. In my opinion, Microsoft AntiSpyware is the best; after all, they do have the source to Windows and know better than anyone else how spyware works.
