I am using Win2ksp4 Advanced Server on a pre-built intel 667MHz 256ram system.
I recently installed the Silicon Image Inc (Was: CMD Technology Inc) SiI 0680 (Was: PCI-0680) Ultra ATA133 EIDE Controller (purchase was without drivers/manual)

I used Sandra to determine the exact type of device and proceeded to download and install the drivers (SiI PCI-680 ‘base driver’ Version 1.0.0.12 Release.) dated 1/24/2005 from SI's driver site. I then also installed SiI0680_x86_InstallSiICfg-1205.zip (which really did not provide me with any useful information.)

After restarting the system, I received the following errors:

and under Device Manager, the device is shown with a yellow exclaimation point (!) wth the following error:

Any help in this that will allow me to remedy this situation and begin useing this device (and subsequently, the drives connected to it) would be greatly appreciated.
(also to be noted, SpinRite 6.0, a DOS based harddrive maintenance tool is
able to read the drive(s) )

Get the right drivers... it will not work until you do.

[attachment=5058:attachment]i use same card (the 0680 and its a good toy....if fail 2 find right driver i can prob sort it 4 ya since i have driver cd...must be a newer driver 4 it somewhere but has i had nps with it i never updated...cheers.....ok here we go i added drivers in rar file..let me know how u go on

strange..i just downloaded them off here again after posting them and they extracted fine..dunno if its something 2 do with winrar version u using?? i is usin winrar 3.41

after Uninstalling previous driver, and Scanning for HW changes, put windows to specify location, and attempted to use the expanded 0680a_idrv_10012.rar, windows states "unable to locate drivers for this device"

the SiiCFG for Medley after reboot can now read the card and drives, which it states is now doing a rebuild (? is this normal)

though Disk Management states "Disk 0" is unreadable,....

will come back later to see if "rebuild" completion has made any changes.

hmm, well, after SiiCFG for Medley stated complted and a reboot, Disk Management still states Disk 0 (SiiG card w/ 2 maxtor 40GB-mirrored) is unreadable.
as well as it does not show up with the rest of the HDD's
these drives were previously used under windows as mirrors, and do stil have data on them. Am I to understand they have to be reformatted since being on ctrl'r card now? or is something still requiring config/setup? do I have to revert it back to a Basic disk (previously Dynamic for mirroring under windows)
