Hi everybody!

I've heard that Motherboards ASUS P4P800 (I have the deluxe vers. ) have the drivers for the S-ATA controllers installed directelly on the southbridge...
Does this mean I won't have to install the S-ATA drivers to make my WinXP recognise the Harddrive connected through it? Thus, can I avoid to add them in my Unattended WinXP install cd?

one more thing...how about this issue applied on another o.s. (linux)?

I have the same motherboard well almost mine is the p4800 e deluxe

even without sata drivers it will work bec. our is a intel chipset.

Windows xp comes with those drivers. Well SP2 does. So if u slipstream
sp2 u dont need SATA drivers.

Feel like apreciating Intel chipsets more and more...I can focus on more interesting issues such as needlework!!

Well, at least, if installing those ATI catalist drivers can be considered within needleworks...

i believ that bios on those mobos emulates sata to appear as ide controller...
