I'm having the hardest time with this txt based install. This is for an Asus A7V333 for the Promise 133 Raid Controller. Below is the excerpt from the txtsetup.sif file

[SourceDisksFiles]
Fasttrak.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4

[HardwareIdsDatabase]
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275 = "FastTrak133_xp2"

[SCSI.load]
FastTrak133_xp2 = fasttrak.sys,4

[SCSI]
FastTrak133_xp2 = "WinXP Promise MBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller"

and here is the txtsetup.oem

[Disks]
d1 = "Promise FastTrak Series Driver Diskette", \fasttrak, \
d2 = "Promise FastTrak Series Driver Diskette", \fasttrak, \nt4
d3 = "Promise FastTrak Series Driver Diskette", \fasttrak, \Win2000
d4 = "Promise FastTrak Series Driver Diskette", \fasttrak, \WinXP

[Defaults]
scsi = FastTrak133_xp2

[scsi]
FastTrak133_xp2 = "WinXP Promise MBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller", FastTrak
FastTrak133_xp  = "WinXP Promise SBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller", FastTrak
FastTrak133_nt52 = "Win2000 Promise MBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller", FastTrak
FastTrak133_nt5 = "Win2000 Promise SBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller", FastTrak
FastTrak133_nt42 = "WinNT Promise MBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller", FastTrak
FastTrak133_nt4 = "WinNT Promise SBFastTrak133 Lite (tm) Controller", FastTrak

[Files.scsi.FastTrak133_xp]
driver = d4, Fasttrak.sys, Fasttrak
inf    = d4, Fasttrak.inf

[HardwareIds.scsi.FastTrak133_xp]
id="PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_7275", "Fasttrak"

[Files.scsi.FastTrak133_xp2]
driver = d4, Fasttrak.sys, Fasttrak
inf    = d4, Fasttrak.inf

[HardwareIds.scsi.FastTrak133_xp2]
id="PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275", "Fasttrak"

[Files.scsi.FastTrak133_nt5]
driver = d3, Fasttrak.sys, Fasttrak
inf    = d3, Fasttrak.inf

[HardwareIds.scsi.FastTrak133_nt5]
id="PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_7275", "Fasttrak"

[Files.scsi.FastTrak133_nt52]
driver = d3, Fasttrak.sys, Fasttrak
inf    = d3, Fasttrak.inf

[HardwareIds.scsi.FastTrak133_nt52]
id="PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275", "Fasttrak"

[Files.scsi.FastTrak133_nt4]
driver = d2, Fasttrak.sys, Fasttrak
inf    = d2, Fasttrak.inf

[Files.scsi.FastTrak133_nt42]
driver = d2, Fasttrak.sys, Fasttrak
inf    = d2, Fasttrak.inf

[Config.Fasttrak]
value = "", Tag, REG_DWORD, 1

I've made sure to do a makecab for the right file (fasttrak.sys), and I've tried both 1,,,,,,3_,4,1 and 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 under the SourceDiskFiles ( the 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 works under another setup I did) and neither of these seems to work. I do know that the "WinXP Promise MBFastTrak133 Lite ™ Controller" is the one you are supposed to use for the txtbased install from asus website. I just can't seem to figure out why this isn't working. I've made sure that my winnt.sif file also points to the driver folder and that the correct drivers are there, but I just can't seem to get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

do you receive an error?

did you try actually putting those lines IN THEIR PROPER SECTIONS in the txtsetup.sif file? As in, searching for the already present section and adding the lines?

No I don't get an error, but I do see that the driver loads, but Windows just says that it can't find any hard drives. I have a 2 Maxtor 250's in a Raid 0 (the raid is controlled by the fasttrak) , I know the HDD's are hooked up correctly because the fasttrak bios sees them, but I can't get windows to recognize them. I haven't tried them in the proper sections, but I assume because Windows does load the drivers that it was picking them up.

From what I see there are two Hardware Ids
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_7275

you'll want to add them both.

I tried that, one of the IDs 7275 is for the SB, the other one is for the MB. I looked on Asus's website and they said that you only needed the 5275. Before I looked I had tried both of those. I will probably just end up getting a floppy drive to do the install, but it's driving me crazy why it's not working. I've done this same operation a few times and other than a little trouble shooting I've been able to get it to work, but I just can't seem to get this particular chipset to work.

Hmm, after doing some more work tonight I seem to have found a problem. I put in a floppy drive and used F6 to install the drivers manually, but even after that it still would not see the HDDs. I've checked Asus's website and can't seem to find anything. It appears that my initial work to put the drivers on the CD worked though, since it still found the same drivers so at least that wasn't screwed up. Well thanks for everyone who helped.
