In others Windows XP (sp2) system, when I use ftp://server command, i can click on "save password" check box but in my pc, the box is grey/disabled. (when I am to enter username and pwd for the site)

I need YOUR advice and instructions to turn it on.

not sure on how to do what you are asking, put if you go to your ftp.server site you can just rightclick on the page and do Logon As and enter your credintals. Another alternative is you can use a program called FILEZILLA (which is free) to do all your ftp needs. It is very handy and easy to use. Hope this helps.
