I've got WinXP Pro SP2 installed and I would like to know how to remove certain apps that I do not use ever. Hopefully what I list can be removed.

I dislike and would like to remove completely the following;

MSN Explorer
MSN Messenger
Windows Messenger
Outlook Express
The games - all of the them that come with Windows

I believe that is all for now. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

You could probably disable them in winnt.sif, however doesn't exactly remove them. Nlite would be my next choice if the first is not satisfactory.

im looking to remove some 'XP MCE' components myself actually.
The "Windows Digital Media Enhancements", which are in the Plus.CAB (46MB) in the CMPNENTS\MEDIACTR\I386 folder.

In txtsetup.sif I see:

[SourceDisksFiles]
...
plusoc.dll   = 100,,,,,,,32,0,0
plusoc.inf   = 100,,,,,,,20,0,0
plus.cat     = 100,,,,,,,,3,3
plus.cab     = 3,,,,,,_x,,3,3
...

Im going to try this:
; plusoc.dll   = 100,,,,,,,32,0,0
; plusoc.inf   = 100,,,,,,,20,0,0
; plus.cat     = 100,,,,,,,,3,3
; plus.cab     = 3,,,,,,_x,,3,3

and delete the respective files:
PLUS.CA_
PLUSOC.DL_
PLUSOC.IN_

letcha know how that goes.

goto windows/inf(it's a hidden folder) there is a file there called sysoc.ini, open it and where it says hide remove that word from wherever it says then goto control panel/add remove/windows comonents and you can remove MSN Explorer
MSN Messenger
Windows Messenger
Outlook Express
The games - all of the them that come with Windows and you can remove some more or if you want use xplite to remove tons of crap but that costs money(hehe)
