Firstly hello to all, this is my first post to MSFN forums, so if this post is in the wrong place please let me know for next time.

Problem:
Slipstreamed XP Pro +SP1 +SP2 +hotfixes using XPCREATE onto CD-RW. While installing over the top of XP Pro using "R" option received message that some files could not be read from the CD-RW (obviously must have had surface damage or bad burn, not sure which), so had to F3 out of install.

Next redid the XPCREATE iso onto CD-R (using another PC as XP would no longer boot on my PC) and made sure all files readable.

Started XP installation once again on my PC, but this time when I used the "R" option it searched for previous installations but did not find the existing XP installation on C:

So as to be able to access files on HDD, installed XP onto seperate partition and could see that the operating system on C: was still visable and looks complete.

Now if I run the XP install from CD as before using "R" it only finds the installation on F: (4th partion).

Q.
Why isn't the C: installation recognised by setup?
Do I need to restore/edit one or some files on the C: to make setup pick it up?

If I can then I can use the "R" option and I am hoping setup should fix everything else up as it normally does.

PLEASE HELP - All help greatly appreciated.
