:( ..Beware downloading and installing Trojan Hunter !
i downloaded and installed it on a pc i was working on and low and behold i got a big fatty startpage.17.ad trojan that comes embedded into the installer....and it's a big headache to remove(if u don't mind burning a few hours).
The reason i downloaded it in the first place was to find and kill the downloader.small.13.n trojan that came in w/ the pc .......In short don't download the Trojan Hunter Program or you will have to kill 2 trojans instead of 1 .... :realmad:

i'm of my soap box.....have fun

:hello: icechris69 :thumbup

Tomcat,

TrojanHunter is a legit program and this is the first time I have heard of anyone having a problem after downloading it. However, TrojanHunter is not free. There are free alternatives if you are interested.

This is a free online trojan scan: Trojanscan

You can also download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack....
  • If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
Another good free anti-trojan program is A-squared:
