Ok.. heres my problem.

I recently purchased a headset for online gaming on "Counter Strike : Source" and it came to my attention that the mic on the headset wasnt working

I tried all the basic stuff to get it working (i.e. - making sure its in the right socket etc...) BUT IT WAS ALL RIGHT.. there was no reason why it shudnt work...

I decided that it was eigther that my mic was bust or that it was my PC... I took my headset round to a friends house this morning AND TO MY UTER DISBELIEF IT WORKED... the thing that realy got to me is that he didnt have to do anything.. it just worked... he has the same Operating system as me so there shudnt be anything Xtra i have to do.

Ok now i was realy ticked... I NEED THIS MIC. I dont mess around with my default options on anything usually so why does this mic not work?

Comon people i BEG for your help...

Hi,

The volume on the mic is probably turned right down to 0.

If you double click on the volume icon in your sys tray, click options, then click on properties, then click on Recording.

Click OK

Click on Select, and make sure the volume is turned right up for the microphone.

Selecting Advanced you can boost your mic as well if needed.

Ok do you people think i should:..

A) Swap my £10 headset (wich doesnt work on my PC) for a headset my friend got for free (wich works on my PC)

B.) Try so hard to fix it untill it works

C) Buy a new headset

D) Go on living with no headset and hibernate in a box..
